Getting Back: A River Wild Film
A story about growth, acceptance & a family finding their way back to the most important things.
The Script
Getting Back was inspired by my 6-year-old son, River, and our Australian Shepard, Koda. I started writing the script for Getting Back by thinking about how much imagination River uses in his play. Being the parent of a 6-year-old is interesting because there is so much innocence in that age but as the parent you can simultaneously see the toddler he was and the young man he is going to be.
The screenplay for Getting Back has had six official selections into film festivals, including being a quarter finalist at New York International Screenplay Awards, award winner at Los Angeles Independent Film Festival Awards, and a finalist at the Imaginarium Convention.
